Erduan Jablaničanin from Novi Pazar has won the Serbian national backgammon champion title, following the final Masters tournament featuring the top eight players, which was held in Belgrade.
In a thrilling final match, Jablaničanin completed a major comeback to defeat Aleksandar Lazarevski from Belgrade with a 2-1 scoreline (10-11, 11-9, 11-10), achieving the greatest success of his career so far.
The Pazar Gammon club player reached the final after a highly exciting tournament. In the group stage, he finished second in Group A among four competitors, securing his spot in the semifinals. There, he defeated Dejan Domazet 2-1 (11-5, 2-11, 11-1) to claim his place in the title-deciding match.
Third place went to Dejan Domazet, while his son, Luka Domazet, also from Belgrade, finished fourth.
This victory marks the pinnacle of Jablaničanin’s career to date. At last year’s final Masters tournament, which took place in Novi Pazar, he reached the final and finished as the runner-up, while this season he took it a step further to claim the Serbian championship title.
